Here you'll find some ideas, what's already done and what's yet to be done. But don't let this list stop you! We're open to all kinds of ideas! If you have an idea for an event please email us (subject: Create an Event) and we'll direct you to the link with the logos that need to be on any advertising that you plan to do for your event.
Envelope
Send people here to pay for or support your event! Or gather the funds yourself and make one donation to our cause.
Donate Proceeds Donate Proceeds from your business
Follow Colin Hillstrum's example! In May he donated 10% of his coaching session revenues to us.
We featured him in our newsletter and of course here as well! At Pink & Green Ribbon we believe in WIN/WIN scenarios and spreading good energy. Help us to reach our fundraising goal of $5000 for 2011/2012 and if we like your cause and work you may end up featured here, in our newsletter or at the very least, a link on our links page.
sharing is a win/win
Special Occasion Giving Special Occasion Giving
Are you hosting a wedding, family reunion or birthday celebration in the near future? Consider asking for donations to the Pink and Green Ribbon in lieu of traditional gifts. It’s a great way to spread awareness and support for prevention.
Collecting donations on behalf of us is easy! Simply send folks to our Canada Helps Giving Page and they can donate in 2 seconds, or collect the funds yourself and make a one time donation.
thank you!
Circles of Women Circles of Women
In April of 2011 we had a beautiful evening with Jennifer Berezan for women and girls 11+. It was such a magical evening and it inspired Tracey to host her own event.
Any healing/educational content is encouraged for such a theme, but the sky is the limit. Have fun, inspire, get silly, sing...

let's inspire each other...
Shave your Head Shave your Head!
Yup, that's what we said! And that's what Aisha did. Read her story. If you like this idea go ahead and have a head shaving party! Send people to our giving page when they pledge to your cause. Donate your hair to Canada.ca and double your good deed!
"After seeing so many women close to me go through breast cancer, some of them not making it through, I felt it was my duty as a women to educate others about the Pink and Green Ribbon Campaign. I wanted to help other women see that they are powerful beyond measure, that they can impact their health and that they too can help educate other women about Breast HEALTH. "
let 'em stare!
Have a BBQ Have a BBQ
If its summer then what better way to raise money than a good burger (why not organic?) Everyone loves a BBQ!
Heck if you SKI or sled get that BBQ fired up and serve hot chocolate! Those are some hungry folks too.

Have a Car Wash Have a Car Wash
The whole family can get involved with this one. Make some home made signs, put on some good tunes and have fun getting wet!
get wet!
Second Hand Book Drive Second Hand Book Drive
Contact all your friends and ask them to look through their library for books they no longer want, will never read again and havent had time to take to the second hand book store or recycle. Ask them to drop the books off at your place and then when you've got lots take them to your favourite second hand book store for cash!
This idea is good for the planet, literacy and your body (from moving all those books!!)
giving increases your I.Q.....

Rachel Carson Community Stewardship Awardees
Rachel Carson was one person who made a big difference in the area of environment and health.
She was a key person in the banning of DDT in North America in the 60s. We want to honour people
and businesses in our community that are making a difference in health and the environment.
2010 Awards
Karin Herrero passed away this Spring living to her very last day with the sense of wonder and gratitude and respect for the earth that Rachel Carson wished for all of us in one of her writings:
"If I had influence with the good fairy who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life." -- Rachel Carson.
Karin lived with the clear awareness of the link between the health of
the earth and our own health. She was a big proponent in treading softly lovingly on the earth from her gardening to her singing in nature to
her environmentally conscious daily actions that awakened and inspired
many others.

Environmental Stewardship Award
The Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company takes into account our health and the health of our environment with each of their daily actions. From providing organic ingredients to choosing packaging materials with the least environmental impact, their health and environmental consciousness is a shining example of what can be done. The project we would like to particularly honor this year is the work they are doing educating our youth (through their Educational Society) about renewable, environmentally friendly energy sources such as Solar Power.
